Colostrum Supplement USDAColostrum Supplement USDA is intended for use in neonatal calves as an aid in the treatment of failure of passive transfer of immunity, and as an aid in the prevention of severe scouring and death associated with K99 E. coli.
NOTE ON NEWBORN CALF CARE: Ideally, a newborn calf should receive fresh colostrum from its own mother for the first 24 hours of life, before being fed milk replacer. Colostrum is the first milk from the cow following birth, providing nutrients, growth factors, and immune globulin proteins that are crucial to the health and growth of the calf. Colostrum must be fed as soon as possible after birth for maximum absorption of maternal antibodies in the newborn. If there is not enough high-quality colostrum available, refrigerated or frozen colostrum may be substituted. If no stored colostrum is available, use Colostrum Supplement USDA according to package directions.
