Frequently Asked Questions
Can Sav-A-Chick® be fed to birds of all ages?
Yes
Can Sav-A-Chick® products be fed to water fowl and game birds?
Yes
How long can I keep the mixed solution?
Mixed solution can be refrigerated for up to 48 hours. Discard any unused portion after 48 hours.
Can I offer both the Sav-A-Chick® Electrolyte and Probiotic in the same waterer?
Yes, we recommend using both products together for 3 days per month to help address pathogens in the birds’ environment. Electrolytes contain energy, helping beneficial bacteria grow quickly in the digestive tract. Probiotics can optimize productivity and aid in digestive health.
I only have 5 birds and don’t want to mix a full gallon at a time. What should I do?
For less than the normal full gallon mixture, measure out 1/2 teaspoon of product per quart of water.
Can I feed yogurt with beneficial bacteria to my birds?
Packaged probiotics are a concentrated source of beneficial bacteria formulated specially for birds. Birds also don’t have the enzymes needed to digest milk proteins; they weren’t designed to drink milk and feeding them too much yogurt can cause diarrhea. Store bought yogurt can also contain things that birds do not need including sugar, high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors.
My child accidentally drank some of the probiotic or electrolyte. What should I do?
Our Sav-A-Chick probiotic and electrolytes products are not toxic however our products are not made for human consumption. We recommend offering clean water and monitoring your child for any abnormal behavior. Contact your child’s doctor with any concerns.
